I'm a golfer and an engineer. Electrical, Mechanical and computer. In my mind, I see the arm and hand as a mechanical device. I see all things from an engineering perspective.

The human mind, the human hand is very precise, and repetitive in nature.

Some part of the stamp will hit first. No stamp will hit perfectly flush and flat every time. The outside edge of a stamp will always hit first.

Thus, some part of the rubber stamp will take the initial brunt force of energy, millions of times when stamping.

With energy, any force will be negated by an opposing and equal force. That force is absorbed into the face of the rubber stamp, basically giving it a slight concave shape after millions of strikes and rolls with the wrist.

So, we add 2008 to a stamp in January, and strike it 100,000 times, either rolling bottom to top, or top to bottom. After some time, the numerical values 2008 on the stamp face of 2008 begins to round, but it will still print because of the impact force and mechanical rolling action applied by the postal workers arm and hand. The lower portion of 2008 will be slightly depressed when compared to the upper portion of 2008 because it is closer to the edge.

Now, take a look at the 80 in the stamp on Obamas SS card. Why is the top of 80 clipped or missing? It is because it is in fact the lower edge of 2008, the part that hit the paper first, millions of time, absorbing much more energy than the top of 2008. It is slightly crushed from millions of hits toward the outer edge of the stamp when it was used in 2008. Now that it is flipped over to form 80, it's top edge fails to make contact with the paper because it is in fact the crushed side of 08.

The Stamp was probably taken from that Hawaii post office in late 2008.

The SS registration is clearly forged.

Please replace the word Concave with Convex on my last post ... Anyway, It clearly explains why the top edge of 80 is missing. The stamp is worn in a convex manner, 2008 is then flipped with the higher edge toward the outer edge of the stamp.

That's it. I have been studying that 80 on the postmark and trying to figure out what was strange about it.Of course, I have seen this “crushing” happen many, many times but didn't realize that was what I was looking at-just thought the top of the 80 looked unnatural.

The placement of the year date way to the right instead of in the middle is such a dead give-away to a forgery also. Although Lucy pings me to BC articles, I think this is the first one that my attention has been drawn to this postmark and if there are Postal Inspectors on Free Republic, why in heavens name aren't you looking into this.

Man, all kinds of impossible explanations are being offered, each more ludicrous than the last.

You did give it your best shot.

BTW, you don't explain how the "19" is missing.
Or do you think that the year stamp is only two numbers despite it being proven that they're 4 number inserts.
