I’ll tell you what it means. We are forgiven by God and the one we wronged, but our stupidity from those sins must follow us. We make the best of it and get on with life.

Hopefully, we don’t goof it up so bad on more than one occasion. Newt did, and since it appears to be part of his character, it is more than reasonable for people to doubt his words now, when he was also professing Christ with the prior two marriages.

I can most definitely vote for Newt, but he has made his own bed on this and his other decisions. It’s a darn shame and we need people with his talents in public office.

Newt was a great and large sinner. No one can deny that. i certainly don’t. I know people become new creatures in Christ Jesus, and I don’t see any evidence of Newt’s past behavior in his life today. How about the people who see themselves as better than Newt because they consider themselves sinless, and “called by God”. Those are the people who make the cross of Christ to none effect.
