What a fine mess. One viewed as a religious zealot and the other is a Mormon which maybe a third could view as a cult?
I hope we have a brokered convention that nominates Newt Gingrich: solutions, visionary and leader. We should be voting for our next ADULT Commander-in-Chief!
Like TBF said, the James Dobson crowd, votes and they are largely Santorum voters (AL & MS) but are they enough of a voter block to win a general election? I'm thinking, no.
I commented upthread that IMHO, these of the Dobson crowd are right out of the Bush camp.
Contrary to popular opinion the Bush camp is not dead. Romney has surely agreed to be a place holder.
Not to say that GWB is leading it, but I believe this is the Jeb crowd who will, on que, draft Jeb at the convention if necessary, and will draft him in ‘16.
Yep! I will stay with Newt til Newt says otherwise and I don't think he'll be throwing in any towel along the way...onward!!!!
I said this will be my last election and there's still none apart from Newt who can turn this country...and beat Obama...Santorum unfortnately isn't the man he's projecting....reminds me of Obmas voters who couldn't look past the skin. Go Newt Go!!!!
Just the last week or so, since I have been trying to vet Santorum a little more, people who were looking at him, not the already-committed, but thoughtful people, are starting to like Newt. they see him in the news, as if he were already a player, engaging the White House. Most of these people who are turning away from Santorum because, frankly, he scares them, and like one Freeper said, Santorum doesn't seem to understand when you open the door of govt to religion, it can swing both ways. And mostly because they are impressed by Newt.
Maybe it's time to start turning our attention away from the hardcore and trying to reason with Santorum supporters, and talk to the nonrepublicans, mod republicans, and others, because according to the recent polls, people are not happy with Obama.
