I could live with that ...as long as they kept Newt around for advice in a very high level position.
It’s not the BEST, but it’s better than the worst scenario.
I think while tonight doesn’t change much, I’m glad Newt is staying in. Newt has a plan — a very cerebral, well thoughout plan. He’s got more to come in terms of influencing the debate as he’s done all week. In time, people will get it ...
As Newt says, illinois (or was it Louisiana) is “half time” in this entire thing.
Newt has the proper experience and dilgence to wait this thing out. Absolutely the MOST experienced person now in this entire arena.
Chief of Staff! Allen West, VP!

I really, really like Newt. And he didn’t do badly tonight but he didn’t help himself either.
We need to stop bringing up crap about either or both of these candidates.
They would each be a thousand times better than Obama.
I wish they would make a deal soon and defeat Romney but I don’t think either of them is prepared to cede as yet.
But, maybe, a promise here, an appointment there ... didn’t Obama promise Hillary Secretary of State (and a fine one she has been).
With Rick chewing on his left foot every other day, it is a relief to know that Newt is going nowhere, but will stay in. Santorum is fodder for implosion and now that he is winning he will finally get some vetting thrown his way for a change and it will be out loud and forceful.
Rick supporters will find no sympathy from me, and I very much appreciate your astute observation that Newt knows this game like the back of his hand. I just DO NOT and CAN NOT believe he won’t make a huge difference during this primary.
Great post, and thanks.
