U.S.English Chairman Mauro E. Mujica this week contacted former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, calling for the two Republican Presidential candidates to demand an English language requirement should Puerto Ricans elect statehood this coming November.
Expected to make appearances in Puerto Rico this week, Romney and Santorum have not yet spoken out in support of requiring English as an official language in order for Puerto Rico to be granted statehood status. Romney has previously expressed support for statehood, should Puerto Ricans favor that in an upcoming plebiscite.

Maybe both of you could stick to promoting your guy instead of trying to eviscerate the other conservative candidate.

Good question. But its a moot point anyway. Why would Puerto Rico vote for statehood (buy a cow) when they get milk (almost all the privileges of statehood) for free?

Ah, so your ripping into Newt is so much more righteous, then.
I'm sorry, but both Santorum and Newt have flaws. And both have considerable strengths. And both are vastly better than Romney, RuPaul and Obama.
I'm sitting here in PA. For once, my primary vote is going to matter for the GOP nomination. Make the case who I should vote for, because last I checked, there is no space on the ballot for who to vote against.

Amen!
Neither Newt or Rick is the enemy.
Focus you're fire on Mitt, he must be defeated.
We lose with Mitt, we win with either Newt or Rick.

Show me a single thread that I posted attacking Gingrich unprovoked. In fact, you won't find many that any santorum supporter has posted for the express purpose of attacking gingrich. Now if you would like you can spend the next couple of days you can go back and look at all the pure Santorum attack threads. I guarantee you'll find at least 10 of them today.
You can feel superior about being above it all but don't expect Santorum supporters to sit back and take this endless beating from a couple of idiots who can't pass by a single thread. In fact, if you look, you'll find that they themselves insert themselves into the Santorum threads.

And I am asking what is gained in defending Santorum by bashing Newt. Seriously, the circular firing squad is as bad as I have seen here in a primary - and between two candidates who are the only remaining options against Romney. How about stating that both candidates have flaws, here is why I think my guy is better, and telling the Santorum-bashers if they want to do Romeny’s dirty work for free that speaks far more about them than it does Santorum.

Nothing circular about it. Any Honest person can see that Santorum attack threads are steadily posted here. Gingrich attack threads, not so much.

I see plenty of bashing all around, and it is getting worse with each passing week. I just don’t think that returning fire in kind is productive towards promoting conservatism.

Well I can guarantee that you won’t see me bashing Newt until one of his supporters chooses to post their endless attacks. Period.

First PR does not WANT to be a state. That also gives them representatives in Congress and more electoral votes—all Democrat, of course. Republicans should be saying that PR doesn’t want it!!! Better still, shut up about it. If they get statehood Washington DC will want it too and charge discrimination

Romney supports Puerto Rico statehood?
(1) Two new Democrat senators.
(2) Five new Democrat congress people (3.7 million population).
(3) Seven electoral votes for Democrat presidential nominee.
(4) Puerto Rico GDP per capita - $20,000
(5) USA GDP per capita - $48,000

I've always thought that statehood for PR would be a bad idea...if they get dissatisfied with their present status they should become independent. If they became a state, it would be after a slim majority voted for it--what if twenty years later they all wanted independence? Would they be allowed to secede because they are Hispanic (the Confederate States were denied that option but they were mostly white Protestants--at least those who had any political voice were)?
If statehood becomes inevitable, they shouldn't be a 51st state but should be added to Vermont, so the Democrats don't get two more senators. If the Vermonters don't like it, accuse them of racism to shut them up.
