Money may not be buying Mitt Romney much Republican love, but its going a long way toward helping him buy the next best thing: endorsements in the GOP primaries.
Romneys Free and Strong America PAC and its affiliates states have lavished close to $1.3 million in campaign donations to federal, state and local GOP politicians, almost all since 2010. His recipients include officials in the major upcoming primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, and in three southern Super Tuesday states where he was trounced four years ago.
In New Hampshire, a U.S. senator, a congressman, 10 state senators and three executive councilors shared $26,000 in donations from Romneys Free and Strong America PAC in 2010 and 2011 combined. All 15 have showered Romney with endorsements leading up to Tuesdays primary
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley came out for Romney last month a year after his Free and Strong America PACs funneled $36,000 to the Tea Party darlings 2010 election bid. And 19 state and Washington, D.C., lawmakers in three Super Tuesday states Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia are backing Romney after his PAC poured a total of $125,500 into their coffers for elections held in 2009 and 2010.

Would be comforting to hear from a few elected officials who refused Romney’s filthy lucre.
I’ve been saying for a long time that Romney has bought, and paid for this nomination, because it’s so obvious. Between promises, gifts, and bribes this guy wants that nomination. He wants to be President.
I think it has something to do with his fathers failure to secure the Presidency actually. Just a hunch based on reading over the years.
So much preparation, planning and pay-offs. No equivalent grass roots efforts with voters or TEA participants- he just passed his money to the candidates.
TEA partiers were used and soon to be abused.
This is an outrage!
I was curious to see if my governor, Bob McDonnell, and lieutenant governor, Bill Bolling (Romney’s VA campaign chair) received money from Romney. The article mentions Virginia lawmakers, but doesn’t specify. I found that Romney did indeed give money to the McDonnell and Bolling campaigns, and even to Ken Cuccinelli, my attorney general.
SoCon, thanks again for all the Romney-truth articles you’re posting.
Some of these endorsements, like Nikki Haley’s, have been so confusing. But now we know that they were all cleverly paid off beforehand. I’m wondering if they knew they would have to endorse when they took the money or if they were approached afterwards. Not that it matters, they were all bought. Mitt has to buy all his love.
Oh no doubt about that....makes me so sick our Presidency has come to this. ...and Romney has the Mormon revenue sources pushing this as well. What ever it takes.
Money talks....bribes work....gifts...as well. This will be my last political involvement if Romney wins. Our nation will go downhill further and I'll be concentrating on preparing my family for it.
Thanks so very much for posting this. I had been keeping my own little list, and trying to update it whenever I found a new instance of buying support, but this is the first time I have seen it all in one place. This is a great post and a great service you have done.
