'Game Change' or 'The Undefeated'? Which Was Right?
yahoo ^ | March 13 2012 | Professor John A. Tures, LaGrange College

Posted on 03/13/2012 12:00:55 AM PDT by Mozilla

Over the weekend, HBO ran "Game Change," the film documenting the McCain campaign decision to put Sarah Palin on the ticket in the 2008 election. Opposite of this was the film "The Undefeated," a pro-Palin documentary trumpeting her accomplishments. Watching both, you'd think they were talking about two completely different people.

"Game Change" was based upon a book about the 2008 election by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, published two years ago. It shows ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as an earnest, warm character, even sympathetic in many respects. It also showed that she was way over her head, lacking basic knowledge of economic issues and foreign affairs. She also, the film implies, cracked at times under pressure.

Julianne Moore's portrayal of Palin does balance the highlights (a great convention speech and debate performance) with the lowlights (the Gibson and Couric interviews, and some behind-the-scenes catatonic reactions).

"The Undefeated" is about as pro-Palin a film as could be imagined. She walks on water. Everyone loves her. Nothing goes wrong. The whole 2008 election is described as one big media attack, with images of zebras being eaten by lions. Her resignation in 2009 is juxtaposed against a collapsing highway and an erupting volcano. Andrew Breitbart, Kate Obenshain, and Mark Levin are portrayed as politically neutral, not conservative commentators.

So which is right - at least according to polls about her "presidential" nature?

The one that HBO doesn’t air is right.

Professor John A. Tures, LaGrange College

John A. Tures is an associate professor of political science at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia. I'm a political mythbuster of sorts. I write political columns for LaGrange Daily News and Southern Political Report. Occasionally, I get something published in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, or magazines like Miller-McCune Magazine or Like The Dew (a journal of the South and politics).

Wow. An ass. professor. Some resume.

Undefeated used real footage, Game Change was fake footage.

Actually, Game Change was a Liberal Wet Dream.

He wasn't a dream, he was reality. As soon as he started to defend Obama against his own supporters, it was over.

At the risk of absolutely offending everyone, neither. Game Change is a decidedly anti-Palin bash-fest, and let us be honest, who does not know this? Conversely, The Undefeated is an unapologetic pro-Palin documentary. Film makers in neither camp stepped outside of their agenda.

Now having seen both. I will say that Game Change was more entertaining and easier to sit through. But accuracy? There was obviously no attempt made.

On second though. Bannon wins for accuracy. What he portrayed was technically accurate. Bannon committed the same sins of omision, but with IMHO less political intent in doing so.

Well, we know who one of (the many) bottom feeding scumbag, backstabbers was.

Was channel surfing last night when I came across "Mad Cow" Maddow having an orgasm while attacking Palin and praising Game Change.

Up pops that ball-headed, fat tub of excrement Steve Schmidt and I hear him say that the idea of a Palin President "scared him."

Interesting how the article accepts the “Low Lights” in game change as factual, but is dismissive of the positives in undefeated.

A nasty hit piece on Sarah, but you have to admit they made up Moore to look like Sarah. Remarkable resemblance.

Which is which?

Easy. The real Sarah is the one who has not had all of her molars pulled for that hollow cheeked look that is so over.

Oh, and the empty drugged out eyes are the give away for Juliana Moore. Same expression she had in that Hannibal film.

This weekend I conducted a social experiment on myself to see what my spirit would move me to do.

I watched one of the movies, watched the hype for the other and then read the fallout for both.

The results? I donated to SarahPAC and removed a few more actors from my personal Playlist.

If that Big Government, anti-gun, dog abusing, progressive rino Romney is the GOP-e nominee in November, I'm writing in Sarah Palin and voting for someone I want to be President, instead of, should that happen, either of the two "official" candidates I don't.

Game Change...ha. Typical liberal propaganda smear.

However, I did see the Undefeated last night and thought it was really good and it portrayed Sarah as she is. She’s tough and she takes it to the establishment and that is what her career (as commissioner, governor and VP candidate) has been.

And it was VERY accurate, when the whole 2008 election was described as one big media attack, with images of zebras being eaten by lions. Because the Democrats AND the media are corrupt and mean and are the real reason Sarah resigned as Governor.

The establishment (both right and left) HATE Sarah. She is a threat to them. And I can see why. Too bad she isn’t running for President. It’s EXACTLY what this country needs and I’d vote for her in a heartbeat!
