Yes America, we are this simple.
Don't screw with the price of gas or beer.
That's 15% off the top...maybe 25%.
Most Americans don't comprehend the other stuff.
But they will sign up with somebody, credible, who says they can bring back $2.50 gas. That's more than they would get from some new "program".
I believe this thrust will work.
Gingrich is showing signs of genius. Too bad 60% of the people in America don't like him. Maybe more.

Obama says he's not into short term solutions. Either are conservatives. We want a LONG TERM solution, aka STRATEGY. It starts with short term commitments, and getting out of the way.
We could be energy independent in 12-15 years. Hell, we could be gouging the Red Chinese. Just stand back, Obama.

Considering the cost of gas was $1.62, a scant three years ago, $2.50 is a very plausible target. Gingrich should use this relatively minor price drop to enhance his credibility, and remind people how recently things were so much better.
