If he lacked the mental capacity (`mens rea’) to appreciate the criminal nature of his actions, than Sec. of Defense Leon Pannata (and his boss) can take his “possible death penalty” and “stick it where the sun don’t shine.”

911 was enough for me. Harbor our enemies and you’d best be willing to pay the price.

Since when is it US policy to kill innocent children?

it fits the profile of a TBI. Unpredictable, rash behavior

Sorry to hear about your daughter.

But doesn't it depend a great deal on what part of the brain was injured?

Frontal lobe injury I know can be associated with changed, erratic, sometimes violent behavior.

However many brain-injured persons are absolutely harmless, including those who are able to resume somewhat normal lives.

I am 1000% behind this soldier.

He is a poster child for all the failed policies and bad decisions of this and the last administration.

My heart and prayers go to him and his family.

He didn’t commit an atrocity.

The atrocity has been committed against him.

“Since when is it US policy to kill innocent children?”

Roe v. Wade, USSCOTUS, (1972)

Since when it is it US policy to prejudge and condemn US combat veterans?
I’m behind this vet 1000%.

How do you know they were innocent?

...Just pointing out the kne-jerk liberal technique of using superfluous, emotionally-charged words like "innocent" to pre-judge actions -- as if killing children were not bad enough, itself...
