WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army staff sergeant accused of the massacre of 16 villagers in Afghanistan on Sunday was treated for traumatic brain injury after being in a vehicle that rolled over in Iraq in 2010, a U.S. official said on Monday.

This will mean nothing to the Afghani’s calling for blood.
Should it?
SnakeDoc
If it means “something”-—it means some Doc is in deep chit for clearing this soldier to be “physically fit for duty” and to be deployed to a combat zone in the first place, after his initial brain injury!!
It wouldn’t to me.
Brain damaged or not, the President says he is “generally proud of the troops” but guess not this time. The guy is on his 3rd tour/deployment. 2 little kids at home. Sees his buds being butchered because some bureaucrat burned some Qurans. Knows the Afghan government burns any Bibles coming into the country. on and on and on...
I thought his actions were totally justified in view of the nutsoid murders of US troops over some filthy books.
This was his 4th tour. 3 to Iraq and this one to Afghanistan.
The president is Brain Damaged?
I always suspected something was wrong with him.
But at least he is proud of our troops. Generally
I supposed Afghanistan can be thankful the soldier was not evaluated for a "moderate traumatic brain injury and returned to duty."
Still no name?
I don’t think the children in their beds had committed any murders of US troops. And when you start reading reports of more Americans killed in retaliation, see if you feel the same way.
Michael Yon was correct in predicting that something like this would happen. Now it’s time for U.S. Troops to return home.
The fact this has not happened more often is a miracle in itself.
Yup still no name.
Yup. All of that crap and this guy just goes over the edge, snaps hard.
Can't push people this bad.
The man needs to be in a hospital.
This is sad. And it fits the profile of a TBI. Unpredictable, rash behavior. My daughter suffers from a TBI from an accident. We’ve been though it all with her. This man should NEVER been sent back into combat and what’s more, he should have been receiving treatment for his injury. Just because someone appears okay, if they’ve had a closed head injury, they are most certainly NOT okay.
This was bound to happen. Our soldiers are tired and worn out. There is nothing that will be positive in this situation. My only good news is my nephew Chuck is coming home next week from the same base that they burned the Korans. He will be in Germany on St. Patricks day drinking a beer! This was his 3 tour. We need to bring them all home. I pray for that soldier who snapped.
