I think that’s true. As the availability, quantity, and realism of porn increases, the need for actual partners decreases. In fact, in some ways, it makes life easier as dealing with real partners is often a painful, messy affair. If (really when) true “cybersex” becomes reality, it will be a major paradigm shift for Society.

Its quite possible that Cybersex, rather than other things (nuclear war, global warming, meteors, etc) may prove to be the “extinction event” for human beings as we know them.

By that time, we may also find a way to encase our entire consciousness inside robots. That would eliminate the need for reproduction as well.

Also you could re-produce by “copying a computer file”, so you can still have population crisis in the so called “cyber age”.

But immortal robots of former humans is kinda scary. You ever watch “Ghost in the Shell”?
