So, yes or no, you believe the only first amendment violation is when the federal government jails or fines someone for expressing an opinion, that's it?

Do you or don't you have free speech issues with campaign finance laws and, more specifically, agree or disagree with the majority decision in the Citizens United case, which used the 1st amnedment (free speech) almost exclusively as the justification for finding restictions on corp. and union political expenditures unconstitutional?

Sorry but you still don't understand the First Amendment. One can be fined for breaking the rules of the FCC WHEN broadcasting on the airwaves BECAUSE Those airwaves are regulated by the Federal Government. Why is this possible? Because the First Amendment doesn't cover the Federally Regulated airwaves.

However IF Rush Limbaugh wishes to speak his mind via a public gathering or on the street corner then the Federal Government cannot fine or imprison him. Why, because the First Amendment covers such.

Its really that simple and either its beyond your ability to grasp OR you are purposely being obtuse.
