What was the argument about?
I can’t say the so-called former seal is an idiot and I cannot say the governor was wrong to call him such with details.

WILLIAM BROWN: My question for you, governor, is please consider veteran students and [unclear] ike myself, here in South Jersey.
GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE: Heres whats going to happen. Rutgers is going to merge with Rowan, and heres why: What Im doing is providing other opportunities for a bigger and better university.
CHRISTIE: If you decide what you want to do is put on a show today, let me tell you something, I can go back and forth with you as much as you want. And let me tell you something, after you graduate from law school, you conduct yourself like that in a court room, your rear-ends gonna get thrown in jail, idiot.
CHRISTIE: You know, I tried to be patient with the guy. Every time I tried to answer, he started yelling over me again. Damn, man, Im governor, could you just shut up for a second?
Cheers,
OLA
“Damn, man, Im governor, could you just shut up for a second?”
Reminds me of ‘I won.’
ps. Damn, man, put down the knife ... fork and spoon.
I don’t think that Christie does himself any favors by such outbursts.
No guarantee seals are not political creatures. Christie merely tried to “explain” to this young man that boorish behavior in a courtroom, should he pass the bar, would have him thrown out or found in contempt.
Hard to believe that’s a complete transcript of the confrontation.
It gets him points, when he wisely chooses his targets. I’m not going to necessarily hold it against him, since he’s from New Jersey and that’s just how things are done.
But I’d have to know what the issue was and the sides before I could say anybody is right.
Damn, man, Im governor, could you just shut up for a second?”
Well the thing is these press conferences interrupt his grazing
It sounds like the veteran was looking for a deal, because he’s a veteran and was trying to make the governor look bad. That’s what it sounds like to me.
If I am correct, I’m on the governor’s side on this.
“Reminds me of I won.”

I like that!
Gotta remember that...

It appears that William Brown is a Democrat. Perhaps he was there only to make a scene. Who knows? But the response from Christie makes him look like a bully. If his mind is made up, why does he even bother to attend a public meeting?
I have heard of this, they said the guy kept yapping and did not let Christie answer. Who knows. The video is too short to tell.
Greetings Yehuda:
Not impressed by many of Christie’s positions and most disappointed by his judicial appointment.
However, what I found so interesting is the student chose to ID himself as a SeAL, inlieu of Navy veteran for press purposes.
Cheers,
OLA
According to the article, from the Daily, the so-called veteran was didn’t want the universities merged.
Why he was really there, I don’t know.
I agree. It's very ‘Coulteresque’ and unbecoming of a governor, imo. At one time Christie was courted to be a presidential candidate. A prerequisite for that top job would be controlling your emotions I would think.
I cannot say the governor was wrong to call him such with details.

I saw the exchange on TV. Christie has killed any chance he might have ever had at winning a National Office. That clip will follow him for the rest of his life. To call a former Navy Seal an idiot because he questioned the merger of two State Universities; Fat Boy was totally out of line. I think the Guv. has some serious issues and possibly mental problems.
