I’m looking forward to it. For presidential elections, we always still have polls open and people voting long after the networks have called the election based upon returns in earlier time zones. I’d like it for once if the rest of the country had to wait on us.

I can certainly understand the frustration of a California FReeper when it comes to feeling irrelevant in elections. Dont take this the wrong way but it seems to me that the Golden State has shown itself to be, just a tad, mind you wacky, fruity, leftist, bizarre, communist, psycho, Marxist, fascist, idiotic and brain dead all at the same time. And those are just the Republicans.
The Democrats are well, the English language hasnt come up with the appropriate words to describe them yet so lets just say their redeeming qualities arent quite as cute and adorable as those previously mentioned for their Republican counterparts.
We do not call elections early to make you feel irrelevant. We call elections early to let you know that we are ignoring you. So far you (not you personally, your state) havent taken the hint. We are hopeful, however, that eventually you will catch on and just stop voting completely.
To be fair, we are not trying to single you out. For years we have been trying to find a way to get Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maryland on Pacific Time so that we can ignore them as well. The logistics have been a nightmare though.
