Unbelievable. The DOD Secretary is suggesting that the United Nations be the end all of American foreign policy regarding who we attack?

I am flabbergasted.

This is what happens when we put ball-less ideological punks in charge. Sheesh, this guy was the "chief of staff" for clinton if I remember correctly. Now he's the head of our Armed Forces and talking this shit?

Does no one in this administration have ANY cojones to speak out? Are the top level military so beholding to their careers that they will allow the bad guys to gain strength and eventually kill/main my children and grand-children? Is there not ONE grown up in this executive administration?

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with the Joint Chiefs of Staff orchestrating a coup against the so-called civilian leadership at this point. Yes, I prefer civilian leadership over military, but it's getting to the point of survival!

Iran is going to light up the Middle East...watch. But the Marxist bambi wants to talk and talk and talk. "Nothing off the table", as bambi says. Does anyone in the know really believe that? Anyone? Bueller?

Sickening...I saw him say this, that they would seek international community permission and then maybe, if things seemed like it was necessary, inform Congress and seek congressional approval...but not necessarily.

Sessions called him on it, said he could not believe what he was hearing and asked Panetta, since he had served in Congress, didn’t he think this was about the most crazy thing he could imagine hearing.

Funny thing is, Panetta said, “yes.”

Newt should have 400 delegates right now. America is dumber than a box of rocks. This man needs to be President.

It's about time somebody called Panetta out on his treason.

Why so late Newt, and why only you?

Gingrich calls for Panetta resignation

“I have been told that the secretary of defense has suggested that international agreements override the Congress,” Gingrich told supporters in Gulfport, Mississippi. “If he believes that, he should resign tonight.”

BTW Newt G. should be carefull about another intervention in Syria He would appear ,like Obama, as the supporter of the islamist revolutions in the arab world .

I should better think twice before taking warrior postures.
Since the beginning Obamas has supported, or/and fueled, the islamist revolutions from behind the scene....

"You know, our goal would be to seek international permission. And we would come to the Congress and inform you and determine how best to approach this, whether or not we would want to get permission from the Congress."

The key phrases are "seek international permission" and "whether or not we would want to get permission from this Congress". Revealing choice of words by Panetta and a screw-up on two fronts - first, we don't need international 'permission' and secondly, an operation either requires Congressional approval or it doesn't. His wording suggests they would first try to go around Congress.

“Newt Gingrich on Friday called on Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to resign, rebuking him for telling a congressional panel that the U.S. would “seek international permission” before intervening in the ongoing bloodshed in Syria.

“I have been told that the secretary of defense has suggested that international agreements override the Congress,” Gingrich told supporters in Gulfport, Mississippi. “If he believes that, he should resign tonight.”

That’s NOT the first time Obama and his administration acted in an unconstitutional manner. Obama’s decision to bomb Libya and spend $2 billion for that, was done WITHOUT the Congress approval.

Can anyone tell me why it was in the US interest to bomb that country? Obama had only helped al-qaeda Islamic fanatic operatives to get their hands on Libya’s oil.

Neither Obama, nor his hard-left ANTI-American administration cares a fig about the interests of the United States or the US Constitution.

The ONLY man, who can get us rid of all that, is NEWT GINGRICH.
