Obama plan: Destroy Romney
Polutico ^ | 8/9/11 4:29 AM EST | Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin

Barack Obama’s aides and advisers are preparing to center the president’s reelection campaign on a ferocious personal assault on Mitt Romney’s character and business background, a strategy grounded in the early-stage expectation that the former Massachusetts governor is the likely GOP nominee.

The dramatic and unabashedly negative turn is the product of political reality. Obama remains personally popular, but pluralities in recent polling disapprove of his handling of his job, and Americans fear the country is on the wrong track. His aides are increasingly resigned to running for reelection in a glum nation. And so the candidate who ran on “hope” in 2008 has little choice four years later but to run a slashing, personal campaign aimed at disqualifying his likeliest opponent.

For those of you thinking that the horrible background of Mitt Romney won't be front and center and will be used to destroy Romney if he is nominated.

Given Romney's Progressive Liberal record, they have a treasure trove and almost unlimited supply of info to use against him.

That’s why we must destroy him before Obama does.

And if he “wins” the Republican nomination-I am not going to defend Romney any little bit!

Interesting that our con artist in chief has neither character, business background, or for that matter, any background to examine or debate in the public discourse. Gee, I wounder why that is?

Obama will not have to destroy Romney. The guy is talking about man made global warming this morning ... he is going to destroy himself.

Did you know that North America was covered with a sheet of ice at one time, and then cavemen started cooking their meat before eating it.

Seems he’s determined to self-destruct. See prior post:

(Reuters) - Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.

“I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.

“It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.”

I can’t envision ANY circumstances under which he would get my vote —— and that includes four more years of Zero.

I prefer Newt but any combo of Newt and Ricky is infinitely better than the Bishop. Time grows short for Newt and Ricky to reach an agreement and move forward as a 1-2 tag team.

I’m still hoping for a Brokered Convention and someone who has been fully vetted already comes out the nominee. Sarah Palin comes to mind. What more could they throw at her?

Replace him with Newt or Santorum...I prefer Newt, but I’m ok with Santorum, as well.

Isn’t Politico a left-leaning publication? Is anyone, other than me surprised that they’re running this?

Mitty is destroying himself, especially with the endorsement of the junk science known as Gorebal Warming!

He must be erased from the ticket! Give us a leader like Senator Jim Demint (SC); he’s not a RINO!

Actually, I’d settle for Joe the Plumber!

Politico is slow off the dime ~ and overly concerned with sex.

There's a term for that ~ but I won't use that.

I heard gasoline jumped13 cents a gallon overnight, so I looked over at the signs at the Shell and doggone it had.

We have about 220 days left to campaign, so that's room for about $28 per gallon more, for a total of right at $33 per gallon on election day.

Obama is toast and so are his cronies.

If Santorum is the nominee, he’ll lose 35 States to Obama. He’s back attacking JFK’s 52 y.o. “Separation of Church and State” speech again. Like, who gives a crap? Is that gonna lower gas prices, raise the Employment and Jobs numbers? Protect us from Iran? Yeah Rick, keep talking about those “critical” issues. You da man!!! DUMB ASS!!!
