The world of politics has become less enticing for young, soon-to-be lawyers, according to a survey of 758 pre-law students released Thursday by Kaplan Test Prep. (Insert lawyer joke here).

IMO many law students get brainwashed in law school. A friend of ours graduated from Villanona and Notre Dame law school.
He was raised as a conservative and actually goes to church every Sunday. He became a judge and ran as a Democrat. He always votes democrat.
He gets annoyed when you talk to him about tort reform.

As long as there is a dollar to be made with little effort to get it there will be lawyers running for public office.
Not all lawyers are good lawyers. The bad ones are politicians.It’s their fall back plan.
Yup, those law degree folks have demonstrated such a matchless mastery of the laws of economics and physics.....that they really should be our leaders.
I think I see many people ... younger people, sayyy ... 40 or 50 and younger ... go no further in their "education" than what is required to make money, whether a technical field or blue collar or even professionally.
The seemingly lack of political interest in way too many people seems to bear that out.
Now, those that we know whom have little or no desire to learn about nor be interested in politics are not lazy nor are they idle. On the contrary, they're very busy and active people but, as my pastor has pointed out so many times in the past, the word "amuse" is "a" (non) "muse" (think).
To be "amused" is to be part of non thinking, and a whole LOTT'A folks are active in sports for instance, they have no time to realize the toilet that doesn't sufficiently flush their own crap was limited to 1 OR 1/2 gallon of water by the EPA/congress.
Lawyers not being political?
I don't buy THAT one, too much of what they do (except perhaps criminal lawyers) is politically motivated or led.
Anyway, the statement I wanted to make is; I don't think many people continue their (life, not academic) education beyond what's necesarry to get a job or a husband.
How am I gonna get rich off all that graft and corruption when the Treasury goes bankrupt and the ChiComs put us on the 87,000 Easy Payment Plan?
I would prefer the ratio of lawyers to humans that Japan enjoys. While there are a few things government does which requires the advice of the legal profession, government is so entrenched in so many aspects of our business lives we really need more people experienced in other fields rather than a hoard of ultra liberal lawyers (in both parties) using the law as a Swiss Army Knife.
We need a cross section of Americans not only lawyers to be our public SERVANTS. If the only tool in your tool box is a law stay out of OUR government and practice your attempts to twist the law in the courtroom.
Our Constitution CANNOT survive any more lawyers. Hell with government pumping out 80,000+ pages of new laws and regulations every year nobody knows what is and is not legal. Even the very misnamed “Supreme” Court judges cannot get past their political bias and agree on the few pages comprising the US Constitution yet we allow the cancer of lawyers to add more and more laws/regulations every year. STOP IT.
Until we reach a parity of elected officials with real life experiences we should not elect/re-elect any lawyer.
There will still be enough incompetant lawyers to become politicians.
you don’t have to be a lawyer to understand government and politics. Yes, there is much to learn, but the underlying principles are simple: the individual v. the state, who gets to control the money?, who gets more power over what?
Moreover, our American Revolutionary History puts many of the modern debates in an easily understood context. The trick is in being able to make full bodied intellectual arguments about how vast elements of our own federal government are more oppressive than King George ever was.
What humans will tolerate is no justification for tyranny.
