What you think the law is, and what the law is, are two different things.

If someone points a gun at you, and you shoot them, have you summarily executed them? What crime have they been convicted of?

If you kick in someones door and point a gun at them first when they point a gun back at you you can't claim selfdefense. A man's home is his castle. He was murdered.
