Their tradition goes on right through to today. Just on a lesser scale. Look in Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria. In Liberia? There was a Joseph Doe a crahn man who took power. Subsequently Charlie Taylor and his men targeted crahns for killing. Pregnant women were cut open with machetes just so the child warriors could win a bet as to whether it was a boy or a girl. This was as recent as 2002. Sometimes they would have another woman make soup with the child. Nasty.

I heard he was a general in the Liberian army who unsuccessfully tried to knock off Taylor and so Taylor targeted the Krahn. At least that's what the Liberian Krahn folk I know told me.

I think Doe took power the traditional way.... with a gun... and became president in the early eighties. Maybe we both should google...
