I read that during the 1956 presidential campaign Adlai Stevensons Harvard transcripts were kept in a locked drawer in the office of the President of Harvard. And in the 1950s it was probably easier to get into Harvard, if you had the money, and definitely easier to graduate from Harvard than West Point. Adlai Stevenson II went to Princeton as an undergraduate. He did drop out of Harvard Law School after failing some classes but later graduated from Northwestern Law School and passed the bar exam.
If his Harvard transcript were kept in a locked drawer in 1956, it would have to have been hidden in 1952 as well.
Reading his Wikipedia page the more surprising thing that might have been used against him today is that he once killed someone.
