One of the reasons people are so reluctant to issue an apology is the fear/expectation that it will be thrown back in their face.
A sincere apology is good for a wrong-doer’s character, whether or not it’s accepted.
Apparently Ms. Fluke has either not heard of or does not accept “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
