Madison – Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon) issued the following statement Thursday following the Department of Workforce Development’s latest unemployment report showing unemployment at its lowest rate since December of 2008:
“Today’s numbers are encouraging and show our reforms are continuing to take hold and are improving the economic climate in Wisconsin.
“However, any positive news on the jobless front this week is bittersweet as it comes just days after Democrats and Senator Dale Schultz blocked the mining bill from passing which would have created jobs for generations to come.”

If the national unemployment rate really is dropping (which I still have my serious doubts), then Obama should be thanking all the Republican state governors elected in 2010 like Scott Walker for doing their part.
