Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Thursday the House plans to take up the Senates highway bill once it clears the upper chamber, conceding that his own last-ditch effort to save a House GOP measure had not succeeded.
As I told the members yesterday, the current plan is to see what the Senate can produce and to bring their bill up, Boehner told reporters at his weekly news conference Thursday.
In the meantime, were going to continue to have conversations with our members about a longer-term approach, which frankly most of our members want. But at this point in time, the plan is to bring up the Senate bill or something like it.

If John Boehner won’t hold out until he gets a nice lunch and a round of golf with Obama, I’ll lose all respect for him.

Spending bills are supposed to originate in the House.
Tell Reid to stick it, and move your own bill, Dim Weeper.

It could even worse if the GOP picks up the senate and McConnell becomes majority leader. Then we’ll have two weaklings in the chambers as leaders.
Putting us right back six years to the cowardly GOP that gave us Obama, Pelosi & Reid in the first place.
