Yes.
Rush has mentioned before the use of My City Was Gone. It was irony—a band/lead singer opposed to him, and he was using their song. To their credit, it is very catchy (esp. the bass line). Hynde wanted him to stop using it, but she “let him” continue to do so after he donated to PETA, plus supposedly Hynde’s mother was a fan of the talk host.

Hynde’s vegetarian restaurant in Akron, OH, her home town, flopped (”I went back to Ohio...”) When George W Bush won re-election, and it seemed that Ohio was the difference, Rush played the whole song. “I say, way, oh, way to go Ohio.”

Hynde on stage: “Are we at war yet? Bring it on, I hope the Muslims win! Down with the economic s-— this country represents!”

As she counts her millions.
