Are you sure about who made that statement.
I thought it came from one of the managers of the shipyard
or owner’s of the company. One of my friends is a world class expert on the Titanic-I will ask him.

There are some references that Thomas Andrews, the architect, or Joseph Ismay, the owner of the Titanic....said a variation of those words...

..of course, in the movie, the words are spoken rather arrogantly by the actor, Billy Zane.
