As with all the perpetrators before him, the press will continue the same old mantra...nothing here, old news...let’s just move on...because the GOP has declared war on women, poisoned the earth, denying women’ rights to free contraception, abortion pills, etc. so they can have free sex at a moment’s whim.

Absolutely, it damages those it supposedly helps.
I overheard a conversation just this evening, two men discussing a difficult professor, and one said to the other disdainfully, “he’s probably just an affirmative action hire.”
So any “disadvantaged” person who achieves anything is assumed to be at his post due to affirmative action - not due to his qualifications.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. A bombshell.
One consolation I have kept to myself is that as much as I hate Mittens, our justified stance of his not being conservative might pan out with actual Democrats who actually want zero OUT but will more easily vote for a middle of the road R.
So, my prescription would be to DOUBLE DOWN with attacks on mitt’s liberalism, rooftop to rooftop, in a way that lures right-leaning rats and independents.
Then again the Dems probably also have damaging stuff to release in October. Forty years ago I was working on a big campaign and was told a fascinating story about two scandals that canceled each other out for Rs and Ds. One involved an illegitimate child. I forget what the other one was, but had equal potency.
So is he a Communist or a Muslim? I think it may be hard to be both.

You may be right. The first volley is to suck in the media for commentary. Then follow up with a more damning piece to suck em in again. Then apply the coup de grau to put em down.

Couldn’t agree more. The “average non-political junkie voter” will not be swayed. Unfortunately, your characterization applies to most voters, I’d say. Analyzing issues, or even understanding issues, is not happening, outside forums like this. It’s still media driven, as shown by the ups and downs of our candidates. The Dems know how to win because they understand the electorate. We don’t.
