RUSH: I want to ask if you will indulge me for just a brief few minutes for some inside baseball stuff before we move on to our review of the issues of the day, politics and so forth, Super Tuesday, the results, and where we are. The reason for this is, once again, so much misinformation about this program and advertisers is in the mainstream media. People are reporting things that, A, are not true, and B, I don't even think the people reporting it have the slightest idea what they're talking about, nor do they have the ability to understand it.
But I know that many of you are spending a lot of time -- God bless you -- on the Web doing what you can to express your support for the program. And judging from the reaction of my own brother, who sends me a note last night, "You really lost 28 sponsors?" No, we have not lost 28 sponsors. "Well, how can they say it?" Because they lie and because they don't understand how it works, and that's what I want to try and explain. In fact, folks, we have three brand-new sponsors that will be starting in the next two weeks. Now, obviously, I'm not gonna tell you who they are today, but we've got three brand-new, full-fledged sponsors starting in the next two weeks

It was a really good morning monolog.
Just goes to show you. Don’t ever believe a word Media Matters spews out.
But he didn’t say how many sponsors he lost that were his.
Well, Rush seems not to be worried. Good!
>>>But he didnt say how many sponsors he lost that were his.
Irrelevant. They have been replaced. Two want back...I hope he tells them to go to hell.
And just who cares.
What difference does it make? He’s got more lined up anyway.
Cindie
Of course not. That is just good business sense.
He should have said how many so that people know the number.
He theoretically accepted their numbers as correct. He went on to explain that this kind of thing happens all the time, and when compared to the number of potential total of national and local advertisers combined (18,000?), it was not a significant event.
Again, irrelevant. Matters only to those who want to use the number to make hate.
Just for kicks .... wonder who the two are & who is "begging"? I think Carbonite is too far gone .... don't think the Lefty CEO would beg to come back. My guess is ProFlowers is one .... they've had a lot of orders cancelled & with Easter coming up, I'm sure they are hurtin' scooters. Heh, heh .... the Left doesn't put their money where their mouths are when they scream for these folks to drop Rush .... Rush's listeners loyally support his advertisers big time as the deserters are finding out.
I just went to the pro flowers website...you can actually comment in their “site feedback” link. I can’t believe they still have that available. I gave them a good thrashing....even though I have never used them and of course will not now. (I did actually think about using them once...only because I heard about them on Rush...obviously now, I won’t).
I say that “site feedback” link at pro flowers needs a good freeping!
I think Carbonite is too far gone .... don’t think the Lefty CEO would beg to come back.
Rush did say one of the former sponsor’s stock had dropped over the past couple of days. And, he said, “ thanks to my listening audience”.
Carbonite is down 9-12%, depending on the story you look at. They Fluked themselves. :-)
Poedesta was on MSNBC yesterday.
He was in full goebles mode.
They Fluked themselves. :-)
Careful, this could be a catchy phrase.........LOL !!!
Since Carbonite is looking very vulnerable we need to follow Alinsky’s advice.
“Pick the target. Freeze it. Personalize it.”
Our goal needs to be to take Carbonite as a scalp and send a message to all the other CEO’s out there they’d better not mess with us. This will make them far less susceptible to Media Matters nonsense in the future.
Carbonite must die, and everyone must know that Dittoheads killed it.
Carbonite moved to Lewiston/Auburn Maine in 2011 and Rush gave it press when it dropped its India based employees. Provided about 150 jobs.
But stock dropped the other day at this onset of publicity. The Market sensed a trend in consumer incentive to look elsewhere?

I know people have dropped their yearly subscription with no refunds-so Carbonite had subscribers over a barrel.
Competitors of Carbonite are: CrashPlan+,Backblaze,MozyHome which can be Free -all have been reviewed above Carbonite [5].

LegalZoom was in the midst of an IPO announcement time frame. But, RocketLawyer has become the fastest growing in competition in legal prep with LZ.

So was the $66K that co-founder Brian Liu from Carbonite donated to the Obama 2012PAC worth the price of doing business to have Obama on his own personal dance card? Do then Boards gather and think differently?
Donald Trump backed Mayor Emanuel in Chicago, but that becomes the cost of doing business in a more bricks and mortar case scenario...cost of doing business in a city planning way.
I think is a risk for smaller corporations involved in these PACS, as the business, jobs and consumers are the ones most effected, not the Politicians. Maher gave a whopping mil so he is not so much at risk and now will be a speaker at a Dem event.
Rush will have his listeners, there is no question about that. If not on free radio FM/AM, paid satellite, Internet providers- all want Rush! More people probably used Carbonite because of Rush as Rush*Babies Trust Rush-so people buy.[15 mil listeners]
Beck knows controversy, left FOX and moved to Texas to produce his Internet TV and the Blaze. Blaze Editor “Billy” is always on Twitter for breaking news. A big Beck advertiser is Carbonite with ticker tape running across his home page. Regus is a big sponsor,Lifelock,Goldline.

Howard Stern has been pretty silent on all this..Carbonite has no problem using Stern to push its products.
BUT ABC NEWS BLOG won’t let it go: Rush Limbaugh: Over 40 Advertisers Flee, Host Says Everythings Cool
