One million dollars may be a lot to most people, but apparently it is not enough for lottery winner Amanda Clayton, who is still receiving welfare assistance. The 24-year-old Michigan native won a $1 million state lottery prize in Sept., but has remained on the state's welfare system. Reports show that Clayton receives over $200 per month in food stamps and other state assistance. "I'm still struggling," she told WDIV, the local TV station.
After being tipped off about Clayton's benefits, reporters began following her around and investigating her claim. "I feel that it's okay [to receive welfare] because I mean, I have no income and I have bills to pay. I have two houses," she told reporters.
This is after the television crew discovered that she had bought a house and car, paying cash for both. The station reported that Clayton received over $500,000 after taking a lump sum payment instead of annual installments.

That’s what a lot of Georgetown female law students seem to be doing ... only they’re not asking for tax payer help in this area. :)

The worst thing you can do, if your income is inadequate, is buy a house if you’ve only won 1 million dollars.
I figure the best way to see what kind of life I could win, is expect myself to live until I’m 90, even though I probably won’t and divide my lottery prize by the years I have left.
In my current situation, I could either add about 20 grand a year to my current income. Not enough to buy a house, but it would give me a better apartment. I’d probably also return to school and stay there until something is achieved, however long it took.
But not enough to own a house.
According to Fluke, one woman:
"told us about how embarrassed and just powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter and learned for the first time that contraception was not covered on her insurance and she had to turn and walk away because she couldn’t afford that prescription. Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception.The woman had "no choice but to go without contraception?" Apparently, the women Fluke talked about needed to Google "free birth control pills" and step away from the keyboard. Then she needed to call Planned Parenthood if you wasn't satisfied with her choices. If you didn't like the color and shapes of the free ones, many states offer birth control pills at $9/month. Surely some liberal in Hollywood can pony up $9 a month to keep the First Amendment in place. Or Fluke. Fluke met this woman. Couldn't Fluke and the activist next to her forgo a latte this month? Don't try and tell me that the woman Fluke talked about had "no choice" and we have to abandon the First Amendment rights of religiously-affiliated employers based on this little anecdote.

I’m glad she’s white so no one can say we are racist. This is typical of the shape Amerika is in today. Even my own mother argues issues I try to talk to her about. The Kommunists have truly taken over the world.
