Ah, no, that’s not quite right. The choice in VA is Romney OR Paul. You may see enough of a protest vote (that being for Paul) that Romney may not get ‘winner-take-all’ on the delegates. It would be a poke in the eye for Romney & the good-old-boy-GOP-elite political machine. One can always hope.
VA is winner-take-all on the CD delegates (33 up for grabs) and proportional on the at large (13 up for grabs). If Paul wins 60-40 say, he could take 41 delegates to Romney’s 5. Three other delegates are uncommitted super delegates. I’d vote Paul in VA even though I’m a Santorum guy.
May not matter in the end. I’ll bet Paul hands Romney his delegates at the convention after Romney pays Paul’s price for them.
