Mitt Romney, campaigning in Tennessee today, recited lyrics to "The Ballad of Davy Crockett." TN
"Remember the song?" Romney said. "'Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee, greenest state in the land of the free, raised in the woods so he knew every tree, and he killed himself a bear when he was only three.'" Watch the video here.
Romney might have done better to recite the lyrics to "Rocky Top," one of Tennessee's nine official state songs and always a crowd favorite.

Actually, the accent is wrong...Fess Parker sung it like:
Borned on a mountain top in Tennersee;
Greenest State in the Land of the Free;
Raised in the woods so he knew every tree,
Kilt him a barr when he was only three.
Mitt, if you're going to do it, DO IT RIGHT!

As someone mentioned, "Pathetic".
The Theme Song from Beverly Hillbillies is more like his style...

Correct me if I’m wrong. But wasn’t the Ballad of Davy Crockett written by Walt Disney employees for a TV show?

“Yea, I’m a real normal everyday guy. Pinch me, and I’ll show you.”
Did anybody catch Barbara Bush being interviewed on “The Five” a few minutes ago? Perino asked her about the idea that maybe Romney doesn’t connect with regular people. Mrs. Bush, whose husband didn’t know the price of milk, or had never seen a price scanner, was adamant that, of COURSE, Romney DOES connect with regular folk. How the hell would the uppity broad know? Pretty hilarious.

Yep. And it would have been funny to hear Romney recite the line about how “all the folks on Rocky Top get their corn from a jar.”

I agree with your point, but the scanner thing wasn’t real, it never happened, and no one knows the price of milk.
We had a very argumentative thread here last year on the price of milk, I had to scan a milk receipt to stop some of the nastier posters, their anger was insane because of the huge variety of prices which they could not comprehend compared to their narrow, personal experience.
