The left, folks -- the media -- are giddy that some advertisers have said they're leaving the program. And I'm sorry to see 'em go. They have profited handsomely from you. These advertisers who have split the scene have done very well due to their access to you, my audience, from this program. To offer their products and services to you through this venue is the best opportunity that they have ever had to advertise their wares. Now they've been chosen to deny themselves that access, and that's a business decision, and it's theirs alone to make.
They've decided they don't want you or your business anymore.
So be it.
For me, this program is always about you. You talk to anybody that knows me who asks me about this program, and I always say, "It's all for the audience," because if you're not there, all the rest of this is academic. This show is about you. It's not about the advertisers. I knew the political inclinations of these people. They didn't care when they were profiting -- and I didn't, either. Everybody's able to put these things aside for the sake of mutual beneficial business activity. No radio broadcast will succeed by putting business ahead of the needs of its loyal audience, and that audience is you. My success has come from you. My focus has always and always will be on you.
And I'm still not through.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: As I was saying, ladies and gentlemen, this show has always been about you. It has always been about meeting and surpassing your expectations as an audience on any level that I can imagine, on any level for which I have empathy. If this program were about the advertising... (laughing) you don't know the kind of commercials you'd be treated to. I reject millions of dollars of advertising a year, much to the chagrin of my hardworking sales staff. Millions, folks, including, I might add, General Motors. What would you have thought, if, after the government took over General Motors, I started advertising General Motors? I made the decision not to accept that because you, the audience, come first. Because no successful program puts the audience second or third.
See, I understand my successes come from you. During the year many of you regale me with how much the program has meant to you personally, your family, over the years. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I take time out to tell you that no matter what this program's meant to you, it can't compare to what you have meant to me and my family. In fact, I have no adequate way to express my gratitude to you. Just doesn't exist. It's how great my gratitude for all of you is. Without you, advertisers would have no need to participate in this program. So what we're gonna do is replace those that leave, those that no longer want access to you, those advertisers who no longer want your business, fine. We'll replace them. It's simple, really.
Advertising's a business decision. It's not a social one. Only the leftists try to use extortion, pressure, threats to silence opposing voices. We don't do that. Never, ever do any of us on our side of the aisle try to suppress the speech or the voices of those with whom we disagree, and we never will. So as you've always done, you make your own business decisions about the products and services you buy. But don't be like the opposition. That was my mistake last week. Don't make it yours.
So let me do this one more, and then we're not gonna do it again. I should not have used the language I did about Sandra Fluke. It was wrong and, despite all the theories, my apology to her was for simply using inappropriate words. I'm not going to wait for apologies from the left ever. And you shouldn't, either. They won't come. You won't get apologies from people like Bill Maher or all the other leftists who have said some of the most horrible, despicable things about us, and people like Sarah Palin. They get rewarded for those despicable things. They get to make movies out of their despicable things and amplify them. But all of the other leftists that call me and other conservatives the most rude and explicit names, never an apology. In fact, they get patted on the back. Don't expect apologies. They are never going to apologize to you or me or any of us. That's the difference between them and us, and it's one more reason why ultimately we will prevail over them.

So you think we are on the way to take it back - w/o a total full-on revolution? That's the only way the leftist will succumb. They won't go peacefully. Conservatives are too passive. No way we are winning this battle. Even RUSH said something like this today,"For 24 yrs I have been naive in my hopefulness"

Kind of made this same point in another post. So where are these 9 advertisers going to go now if the Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, etc. listeners boycott their products?
I’ve seen them advertise on TV but not that much. Ironically, companies like Carbonite never would have gotten that big to advertise on TV if they hadn’t started with Rush.

Of the advertisers I did use, I’ve already contacted and let them know this household will not be using their product anymore, or visiting their stores.
But I did buy tea from Rush at twoifbytea...

I use Carbonite, but I still have over 300 days left in my subscribtion. If I had less then I would probably look for something else. To be honest though I like it

We have had a Sleep Number for many years, back before they even had number controls on them. It has been comfortable (with a thick mattress pad on it) and has held up pretty well. We’ve replaced husband’s side of it a couple of times; but my side is still the original.
Having said that, when we do replace it, we’ll be looking for another company that manufactures a glorified air mattress. They loused up with this latest antic; don’t they know the “Occupy” people have nothing else to do other than send a barrage of e-mails protesting any conservative. When they gonna protest the vulgar Bill Maher about his slurring Sarah Palin?

Why won’t Rush take in adverts from Beretta, Colt, Ruger, Kahr, and other weapons manufacturers?
I spent part of this morning cancelling my Carbonite subscription, and informing Shari’s Berries and Cherry Moon that I would not be purchasing anything from them again. I actually got through to Kevin Beresford, CEO of Shari’s Berries. He seemed really surprised to hear that anyone would actually do this!!! I told him that I worked my way through law school (worked FULL time and went to law school FULL time) and that I was so blamed busy I didn’t have time to date, much less have recreational sex!!! He said he would forward my concerns to the “team that handles that”.
