About two years ago I mentioned to my wife that if everyone spent their money the way we do, the economy would die in a week.

I think a great many people did the same thing, and about the time you did. People have no confidence in our economic future, and have gone to a "saving" and "paying off" economic mode. Much less money available due to gas and food prices, and what money they do have available, they are being much more careful with. I don't blame them, I'm starting to conjure a very pessimistic view of our future, because of Obama's destructive policies and other things that are obvious to anyone paying attention. The future really is starting to look bleak, mostly if not completely due to liberal ideas.
