Their relationship, almost from the outset, has been frostier than not, a mutual antipathy palpable in many of their previous encounters.
Two years ago, Barack Obama reportedly left Benjamin Netanyahu to kick his heels in a White House anteroom, a snub delivered to show the president's irritation over Israel's settlement policy in the West Bank. In May, the Israeli prime minister struck back, publicly scolding his purse-lipped host for the borders he proposed of a future Palestinian state.
When the two men meet in Washington on Monday, Mr Obama will find his guest once more at his most combative. But this time, perhaps as never before, it is the Israeli who has the upper hand.
Exuding confidence, Mr Netanyahu effectively brings with him an ultimatum, demanding that unless the president makes a firm pledge to use US military force to prevent Iran acquiring a nuclear bomb, Israel may well take matters into its own hands within months.
The threat is not an idle one. According to sources close to the Israeli security establishment, military planners have concluded that never before has the timing for a unilateral military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities been so auspicious.

He's s dedicated servant of the Demolition, but a really slacker at heart. The latter is made possible by the Narrative Nomenklatura, among whom there is certain to be many exploding heads if forced to run offense for this administration while huffing and puffing, at the same time, their proper "tut-tuts" at those 'unilateral and oppressive Israelis.'
If the stakes were not so frighteningly high I would be setting up the popcorn. (I may set it up, anyway.)

President Barrack Hussein Obama is reportedly asking Net to hold off his attack until after the election. Kick his azz, Net!
Israel attacking Iran while the election is happening would make life hard for Obama. Obama attacking Iran while the election campaigning is ongoing would be hard for Obama.
It would be BiBi’s Oct. surprise and Obama would have to side with the the most nasty Muslim characters against Israel during the election. It would leave no more room for questions about whose side he is on.

Israeli first strike:
1. Israel's three (four?) Dolphin-class submarines fire Popeye Turbo cruise missiles in a preventive EMP strike to kill all Iranian electronic communications.
2. Once Iranian communications go dark, then hit Tehran and nuke weapons sites and Qom with ballistic missiles. If the nukes don't kill the nuke sites directly, they'll kill them indirectly.
3. At the same time the subs fire their cruise missiles, call a country-wide defense drill and send all Israelis to their attack shelters.
4. Next strikes: Tell Syria and Egypt they're next if they so much as twitch; ditto the Palestinians.
5.The first rockets from the Palestinians and Israeli artillery and the IAF level Gaza and the West Bank until there is nothing but rubble. Survivors can go to Jordan or Egypt, if either will take them, or they can die in-place.
The bottom line is to exterminate as many loony Muslims as needed until they understand Israel isn't doing appeasement any more; it is practicing victory by killing as many of its enemies [in as many millions] as possible until they “get it”. That's when you can talk about real peace and not before.
I especially like #4.
