Easy answer, Marguerite, the little Republican primary voters prefer to follow the “lead” of past nominees McPain, Dole, and GHWB who can “instruct” them “clearly.” People need to know who’s turn it is!

If this is the case, I don’t want to hear them complaining anymore.

GHWB won once, so that’s kind of silly. He would have won the second time if not for Perot. Again, silly comparison.

McCain didn’t lose because he was a moderate, he lost because people were tired of 8 years of GOP rule, two wars, a very bad economy. Had nothing to do with McCain’s moderate positions.

Dole, was hardly a moderate.
