The racial makeup of the city is 34.8% White (18.1% were Non-Hispanic White,)[10] 54.9% African American or Black (with a large majority being of Caribbean ancestry,) 0.3% Native American, 1.92% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 3.2% from other races, and 4.9% from two or more races. 23.2% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
