I work as a psychiatric nurse on a Crisis Stabilization Unit. I don't even “go there” for the most part with the people that I work with. I am without question the only conservative person that works on this unit. But there was one nurse in particular that I worked with often and had quite a bit of professional respect for. We worked together one night, and she looked at me and said “ you just absolutely have to be a democrat.” “I just know it.” I laughed and told her that I was a conservative with a capitol “C.” “But I don't understand. You seemed so smart. So compassionate. How can you be a monster?” I was shocked to say the least. I told her that while “bleeding heart” liberals like to believe that they are the champions of the human cause..conservatives are actually out there doing the leg work. My political views do speak to my intelligence, but certainly don't make me “stupid.” Long story shot..she came to me at the end of the night and told me that she would certainly be able to still work with me, but her opinion of me had changed. She wanted to be sure that I understood that. These people..the “bleeding hearts..” all think this way. It's crazy.

I was at one of my daughters CYO basketball games and a mother sat next to me who I usually avoid but am friendly to. She was known to raill against George Bush with my older daughter in the car which I thought was inappropriate. We had become more friendly after I coached her daughter who I really like. Right before the game she asked “so what is (our Parish) thinking about the contraception mandate”. I said they were pissed, even the people who support Obama, and that Obama himself must have thought it was stupid because he tried to change it two days later. She said everything should be free like in Europe (she is Italian). I asked “should be the Catholic Church pay for abortion?” She said yes - I replied that she can check how popular that idea would be. She said she believes in the separation of church and state and I said “so do I, we just define it in different ways”. She was out of line bringing this up at a Catholic basketball game but I believe I was perfectly allowed to push back when it is pushed in my face.

I have always found it fascinating that conversatives look at liberals basically as mis -informed, ill- informed, or simply indoctrinated....which is ok with me....live and let live....if a person wants to live in a liberal fantasy world.....great, just don’t ask me to pay for it...Or impose your liberal ideas on me...

...on the other hand liberals think conservatives are either ignorant, stupid and dangerous mentally deranged people who have no place in society and needs to be re-educated or silenced

Sheesh, prejudiced much? Some of the smartest people in the world are conservative.

Liberals are morons. Just tell them you too are liberal and start discussing some conservative policy idea. They will agree with you at every turn.

Then say, “Oops, that was a conservative idea” and they’ll poo poo it.

Same works if you tell them you are conservative and argue “for” some stupid Obama policy. Believe it or not they’ll attack it.

For example, before all this “contraception” crap came around, if, as a conservative, you proposed HHS under a Republican president mandate contraception coverage the liberal would argue against it with venom. I’ve baited liberals like this for decades.

They have no clue what the hell they are talking about and are too stupid to learn.
