It would seem that Diana Wagman is afraid of contrasting views. Like a child covering her ears so as not to hear anything that might prove her world view wrong. She is sure of her views because all her liberal friends agree with her and just cant fathom another point of view. Her world view is reinforced by watching MSNBC, CBS and NPR. It would be too much of a shock (see article) to discover she is wrong.
For want of a better higher power, liberals have turned to partisan politics to define the world. But,the insider ‘politically correct’ morphs so frequently that most liberals in this part of the country are a page or two behind and terrified that they can’t catch up.
Thus, they’re obsessed with politics and will bring it up within the first three sentences of a conversation. They have no idea how crazy they sound to anyone outside of their fearful little colony.
At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill disciplined, despotic, and useless.
Liberalism is the philosophy of sniveling brats.

That is a huge issue in the country right now, perhaps the biggest one in the Left/Right divide we see.
On the Right, we can’t help but see the Left’s views daily due to the dominant media culture. Here at FR, we look at and dissect those views constantly. This causes much ongoing examination of personal beliefs.
On the Left, it is entirely possible to live in a bubble created by the dominant media culture and never have to examine your views, until something enters your bubble, as in this story.
The Fourth Estate is a very, very large part of our problems in our country today.
