I have to agree with you. My wife and I had - operative word - good friends, neighbors, who live across the street from us. We did a lot together through the 1990s and even through the early 2000s. However, things began to change sometime in GWBs second term, as the vitriol and hatred spewed from the left-wing media. It soon became apparent that “we” and “them” was not going to work as they are very liberal; he’s a lawyer, she’s a public school teacher, ironically (or not) they sent both children through Catholic schools and Notre Dame. Now, with Obama and the extreme divisivness and hate, I want nothing really to do with them. The same holds for my wife’s family - her brothers and father (although I tolerate the 80 year old fool) who are knee-jerk democrats; and my sister and her demented second husband.

I don’t understand any of these people any more, how they can so strongly support Obama and his anti-American policies. My anger toward all Obama supporters is growing, and I think that’s a dangerous thing for me, and for the USA if my views are similar to those of other conservatives. The sad thing is, the rage stems from the vile views and intolerance of the left, and its promulgation in the so-called MSM.

I fear the USA is at a tipping point, to tumble off into the abyss.

“I don’t understand any of these people any more, how they can so strongly support Obama and his anti-American policies.” Agree! I’m tired of having the vile views and intolerance of the left promulgated as a higher standard in which we all will participate either voluntarily or by force. My dem relatives and former friends are either deluded, naive or self-centered beyond belief. Sadly, there is no relationship left to salvage.

Yeah, I'm angry too, and I'm not someone who enjoys being angry. I generally tolerate disagreement well but what drives me up the wall about liberals is the dishonesty. Of course they will say the same thing about conservatives, but they're wrong. There is no symmetry. The simple fact is that within the context of America and its founding principles and its traditional culture, the left must operate deceptively. I don't think most liberals are consciously deceptive, but as part of a larger left that has sanctified deception as a legit means to an end, they share, at some deep level, an orientation towards dishonesty that just isn't there on our side.

You have that fear only because it is true. I had a conversation with someone I don’t even know at the gym today and he said that he doesn’t want to be around liberals anymore and tries to avoid anything to do with them. I am the same way, I would rather spend an hour watching pigs in a smelly sty than to spend it with liberal idiots. The pigs are a lot smarter.
