thanks for this post. it underscores our basic failure (as conservatives) to defend America from the moral corruption within. all of our current problems stem from our moral failures. all the political sound and fury really amounts to nothing if this foundation cannot be strengthened and soon.
but the continued existence of these organizations founded on our previous greatness also gives me some hope for our recovery. i feel there is a strong remnant of our founding culture embedded in the rank and file of our now mostly corrupt cultural institutions. it could be that this remnant’s resistance coupled God’s grace will lead to our ultimate salvation as a nation. how it may come, God knows, but i pray Jesus to provide the lamp.
Well said.
dadfly,
Having been a Girl Scout myself (1st grade through the 10th grade) and then a scout leader for my daughter’s troop and even being awarded my local council’s “leader of the year” award one year.... it saddened me to read how the organization’s reputation is now drug though the mud.
I can guarantee you that there are thousands of leaders out there carrying out wonderful programs for their “girls” and upholding the traditional values of scouting and ignoring this “new agenda.”
Knowing this, I want to think that deep down there is some remnant of the old traditional values left in the program, though looking only at the council level one would not think so. Reading what you wrote was like “sunshine”. It was well said and I thank you.
