The bigger issue to me is we are raising more and more people that expect the state to provide what, in the past, individuals did for themselves.
What happens when, not if, the welfare state needs to be rolled back for our fiscal survival you now created a new victim class that will fight for what they believe they’re “entitled” to.
I fear for the future of this country and my wife and I have had serious discussions if we may have to leave the country after retirement.

If one is “in a spot” and the state comes along offering a hand up/out (take your pick) it’s often hard to refuse, especially if you had already paid taxes out the wazoo in the past for that kind of thing.
But this woman is taking it to a whole new level.
Hubby and I are discussing the same- currently working on a good place we and our pets can relocate.
