Poll: Wisconsin's Walker to survive union recall drive
Washington Examiner ^ | 29 Feb 2012

So much for that recall effort. According to a new Rasmussen poll of likely Wisconsin voters, Gov. Scott Walker should survive an effort to throw out his 2010 election, a campaign driven by pro-union activists angered that he limited collective bargaining rights for public employees in a budget-cutting move. It’s a huge and positive switch for Scott’s fortunes. Opponents made headlines when they easily collected 1 million signatures on a recall petition. Walker this week said he would not challenge the signatures-including names like “Donald Duck”-because there isn’t enough time before the May recall election.

Rasmussen’s poll is the latest done on the election and finds that 54 percent of likely Wisconsin voters at least somewhat approve of the governor’s job, while 46 percent somewhat disapprove. He does good with independents, as 58 percent approve of his performance. The telephone poll of 500 likely voters conducted Monday shows a pro-Walker move, coming days after a Public Policy Polling survey conducted February 22-26 that found the state divided 49 percent-49 percent on the recall.

Helping Walker has been the state’s improving budget, according to a Rasmussen analysis. A victory in the recall would be a huge blow to liberal union groups who’ve made the Republican governor the GOP posterboy for union busting.

The Rats are going to try every dirty trick in the book to make sure Walker is defeated...I hope it doesn't work.

Good news but I note the election is in May? A little premature, no? I assume they will run heavy advertising against him.

4 things of note:

1. As mentioned before the Dems are nowhere near 1 million sigs and the bad PR that will come from it during the race will hammer this waste of money home.

2. The current frontrunner Kathleen Falk has lost all her Statewide races and her union pay for play will not go over well.

3. The poll has Indys in strong favor of Walker...personally I think a lot of those Indys are Dems embarrassed by what has happened in the State due to leftist radicals.

4. Voter ID will be in effect.

I personally don’t think it will be close.

BTW

Recall fraud story:

http://mediatrackers.org/2012/02/man-charged-with-recall-fraud-gabs-suspect-review-needs-more-time/

IF local DA’s start going after these frauds like the Racine DA is I would think you’ll see less recall efforts in the future if they can’t ammend the recall rules.

I love it when the Slave Party wastes buckets of money.

I hope this "right to work" battle ends up like their fight against the liberalization of state gun laws. Walker was very smart not to over-reach, going only after bennies and campaign money. The rest will come after people start to realize the benefits.

Hopefully, this is not putting the cart before the horse and calling victory BEFORE the first ball is snapped.

If the actual election is set for May, a LOT of things could change and, if I were Walker, I’d continue holding off buying new curtains for his office.

I feel a more ‘negative’ vibe in ‘counter-intelligence’ by opposing forces at work here in trying to infect Walker supporters with complacency with over two long months still away here. No one should lower their guard in this vicious and climatic election.

Opponents made headlines when they easily collected fabricated 1 million signatures on a recall petition.

Sorry, had to fix the typo.

The election is in May.

His numbers are frankly rather divided right now.

I am afraid a recall will almost certainly be successful. If anything these numbers are bad, not good.

It would be great if they were held accountable for their actions but the reality is that if they screw things up it will be the taxpayers left holding the bill (*See GM/Chrysler/Banking/etc. bailout for more information...)

These are straight up red communists that are trying to steal more money from the productive class
The right may win this battle, but shall surely lose the war, for the enfranchisement of all through constitutional amendments has turned this nation into a sure to fall Democracy.
The Founders wrote that all democracies murder themselves most violently
They were students of History, not career politicians out to make a buck by spreading other peoples wealth around

Voter fraud, voter fraud, voter fraud, and voter fraud will be the friend of Obama’s stooges in the Badger state.

1. As mentioned before the Dems are nowhere near 1 million sigs and the bad PR that will come from it during the race will hammer this waste of money home.

Which is why the surviving Walker administration should take a lesson from democrat behavior. When libs want to increase taxes, they cut spending on necessary programs like police and fire while preserving welfare programs. The new Walker administration, upon affirmation, should announce its intent on recovering the costs of the unnecessary recall election by cutting non-critical spending. Step one should be eliminating funding for public broadcasting. They should also look to recover waste-stream costs by implementing surcharges on heavy polluters whose excessive use of paper and newsprint clogs landfills.

I personally don’t think it will be close.

I agree and even though I'm from PA I sent Walker a couple of bucks for his effort.

I think he will debate her, {or if she refuses} debate her issues, and it will be apparent that she is a hack.

The only demonRAT pitch is vote for us and we will raise your taxes for our retirement, force the teachers to take a $ 1,000 out of their pocket for union dues, force the school districts to pay 2or 3 times as much for insurance {thereby forcing teacher layoffs}.

Walker is going to crush her.

I love this. The Union Rats blew so much money and time on doing this and it is going to blow up in their face. They didn’t even have challengers in some of these recall efforts lined up. What is the point to blow tons of Union and Rat cash on a recall when you don’t even have a plan to win? What a pack of losers.
