So much for that recall effort. According to a new Rasmussen poll of likely Wisconsin voters, Gov. Scott Walker should survive an effort to throw out his 2010 election, a campaign driven by pro-union activists angered that he limited collective bargaining rights for public employees in a budget-cutting move. Its a huge and positive switch for Scotts fortunes. Opponents made headlines when they easily collected 1 million signatures on a recall petition. Walker this week said he would not challenge the signatures-including names like Donald Duck-because there isnt enough time before the May recall election.
Rasmussens poll is the latest done on the election and finds that 54 percent of likely Wisconsin voters at least somewhat approve of the governors job, while 46 percent somewhat disapprove. He does good with independents, as 58 percent approve of his performance. The telephone poll of 500 likely voters conducted Monday shows a pro-Walker move, coming days after a Public Policy Polling survey conducted February 22-26 that found the state divided 49 percent-49 percent on the recall.
Helping Walker has been the states improving budget, according to a Rasmussen analysis. A victory in the recall would be a huge blow to liberal union groups whove made the Republican governor the GOP posterboy for union busting.

Walker is one of the most effective governors in the country. Leave it to the Dems to initiate a “recall competence” drive to give incompetence a chance.
I presume there will be a ton of voter fraud in the recall election. It may be harder for them to do, but they control the counting in many places, and as we saw during the protests, they also control the law in places like Madison.
Well, they didn’t manage to steal that state supreme court race, so maybe they won’t be able to steal this. Let’s hope.
May is a long ways off but here’s hoping Walker can make it, he an then use the wasted money theme against his opponents.
It's nine months to the elections and the Repubs are doing their best to fritter-away the righteous anger of 2010. The hapless Boehner has set the tone: cry and wet your pants as the Dems pile outrage upon outrage. The perfect neutered lap dog. Obama is the most viciously racist and criminal person ever to inhabit the White House. The public is enraged by what he has done but has not been given a clear vehicle to get rid of him and his communist lackeys. Will the Repubs harness this anger to drive him from office or will they piss-away this opportunity, too?
One way or another, things will change after the fall's elections. The Repubs are toast anyway, off to join the Whigs, whether they win in 2012 or not. Obama's communist utopian fantasy will implode. There are no longer enough compliant, working, tax-paying citizens to allow the country to continue functioning. Think the Tea Party is gone? Wait until the summer, when it reemerges, white-hot with justifiable fury at what Obama and his minions have been doing. Repub candidate? Won't matter; what will matter is defeating the Dems in a landside of anger. No, anger is not a good basis for policy, but when it happens, it happens. Wait until the Dems try their usual voter fraud stuff. This time they will be caught and exposed. We have simply reached a tipping point beyond which Obamaism can no longer be sustained. I expect him to revert to his natural racist, snarly ugliness as it comes down around him, even if he wins re-election. Times are a'changin'.
Whatever you do Wisconsin, do not rest! This is the same ploy the media pulled on us in Arizona... declared Russell Pearce was safe, so everyone went back to sleep and woke up on election eve to the news that the recall had been successful.
Huge. I hope he wins. He likely would have made at least as good a presidential candidate as the rest running.
I will be able to cast just one vote, with a valid ID.
If Walker is not successful in this recall election, Wisconsin will go into the Dark Ages for a long time to come.
-——This one is a civil war by other means——
At least WI got to have a war.
Here in MA, Romney couldn’t surrender fast enough.
I don’t think any dirty tricks that the Rats try in the recall election will succeed. I put a lot of hours in as a volunteer keying in data for Verify the Recall. That effort apparently won’t prevent the recall from going forward but (if things are done correctly) analysis of the data could yield identification of some “usual suspects”. By “usual suspects” I mean folks who committed fraud and/or ID theft. This intelligence can be of immense potential future use. Anytime the names of these “usual suspects” come up in similar future “endeavors”, they can be a focus of more DETAILED assessment. It’s time we started to play hardball with the Rat goons and their operatives. Turn-about is certainly fair play. I hope that, within the limits allowed by the law, the Verify the Recall folks pursue such possibilities.
That’s an interesting issue. I wonder how many of these unions have unfunded pension liabilities?
Don’t count the vote before the liberal judges do. :)
The unionism in this Country is embarrassing.
A large depiction of workers silhouetted in red with fists in the air was the backdrop for Obama’s recent speech to the UAW.
I tell ya’, these are not the proud Americans I’ve known over the last half Century. Very sad, very Communistic.
With the new voter ID law, vote fraud will be much harder. Voters have to show a photo ID and sign the voter rolls before getting a ballot.
