Cannot have one without the other.

As Adams wrote, Our Constitution is only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate to govern any other kind of people.

Because as Franklin noted, As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters. And masters who would rule them with an iron fist.

Fix the spiritual problem first, and the political will follow. If you try to do this backwards as many are attempting to do, it will fail, along with the nation itself.

Without God being first in the lives of this people, men and their government will be made to replace God in all things. We are witness to this fact right now.

Which is why I said, if we will not be governed by God, we will be ruled by the tyranny of men.

It doesn’t have to be an either/or. It’s a both/and.

You are mis-applying the principles. I don’t disagree with what your foundational beliefs are at all - but I frankly resent you coming onto a political forum and being very condescending about those of us who are “wasting our time” talking about politics because if we don’t straighten up our spiritual and moral house then nothing matters.

Poppycock.

The fact is, humans can walk and chew gum at the same time. The fact is also that our God inspired Founding documents do not call for a theocracy. They call for liberty. This is a very important arena and the outcome in the political arena will have tremendous ramifications on how much or how little religious freedom our nation has left.

It was no more appropriate for you to say on this thread what you did than for someone to go on a thread about the 2 Chronicles passage and say “quit wasting your time in prayer and get up and go vote!”

Which is analogous to what you did. Both are important.
