Romney 45% Obama 43%... Paul 43% Obama 41% Obama 45% Santorum 43% Obama 49% Gingrich 39%...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16 (see trends). Thats the presidents lowest rating in over a month.
Matchups between President Obama and GOP hopefuls shift along with the presidents Job Approval ratings. As a result, with the presidents overall approval ratings down six points since Valentines Day, the general election polling is looking weaker for the incumbent. It remains to be seen, of course, if this is merely statistical noise or a lasting change signaling that the presidents recent bounce in the polls has come to an end.
For the first time since late December 2011, Mitt Romney leads the president in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Romney earns 45% of the vote, while the president attracts support from 43%. Romney holds a nine-point advantage among unaffiliated voters.

So says the leftist media. I don't see it. His numbers got the usual January bump...he got them the last two years, too. People get temporarily optimistic. His numbers are back down into the low to mid 40s. Romney beats him head to head, even in the middle of a bruising primary. Unless we see real economic recovery, he'll lose. I do think he has increased his chances in the last 2-3 months due to the GOP House and Senate's awful PR capabilities. With tepid growth and high unemployment and underemployment, it is a long shot.
I like Santorum, and would vote for Newt, but the birth control mandate ended any chance of a Catholic getting into the POTUS. By saying that employers have to pay for birth control, Obambi sewed up the female vote. He already had the minority vote, and that pretty much ended any chance of Mitt not being the nominee.
It is still a ways out, but we as conservatives need to stop screaming in the echo chamber and actually start planning the next move.
He’ll do what leftists always do when they’re losing. He’ll either cheat...or he’ll throw out the entire game and start his own game played by HIS rules.
I said this last year: Obama can be defeated by a ham sandwich.
