February 26, 2012 Christie Slams Santorum On College Stance By Leigh Ann Caldwell
(CBS News) On CBS News' "Face the Nation," New Jersey governor Chris Christie had some harsh words for Rick Santorum over statements he made about higher education. Christie said the former Pennsylvania Senator went "over the line."
Christie was asked by host Bob Schieffer about Santorum dissing President Obama for encouraging a college education.
"President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college - what a snob!" Santorum said in Troy, Michigan Saturday.
"I think that's probably over the line," Christie told Schieffer: "I don't think the president is a snob for saying that."
Christie, who is supporting Mitt Romney, said Santorum's position on higher education doesn't "make any sense." He noted that not every child wants to attend college, but "we should aspire to let every child reach his maximum or her maximum potential."

Big education is nothing but a massive overpriced taxpayer funded jobs program.
I have a cousin who works part time at Western Michigan University. She wants to work full time for one reason, to get that hour of free paid time to work out in the gym every day.
Think about that. That’s 5 paid lost man hours per week per employee. I don’t know how many full time staff there are at WMU but I’m guessing its at least 150 people and probably many more.
Obama wants universal K-16, because K-12 isn’t proving to be totally sufficient indoctrination.
Thanks for the laugh.
With regard to college, Rick Santorum is not out of touch; he’s got it right. When I was a student in the fifties and sixties, we were told if we worked very hard we might be good enough to go to college, and the kids of my generation took academics seriously. Today, kids who have struggled since the first grade are told that college is their right and that the government should pay for it. With government grants and/or borrowed money they go to college and fail. They waste years of their lives trying to do something which to an external observer it is clear that they cannot do. This is a waste of time and money both for them and us.
Bingo!
The more he talks, the less I like him.
I usually don’t look to TV personalities for intelligent commentary but Discovery Channel’s Mike Rowe nails it again and again and again in this speech about the state of America.

It’s funny how much effort the libtard media puts into getting Repubs to defend Obama and criticize fellow Repubs. It’s all they do. It’s the entire mission of the Sunday shows.
FWIW, Santorum’s statement on colleges is silly.
Christie really doesn't impress anyone smart enough to read entire paragraphs I'll tell you that.
College is for everyone almost ruined the NY City Colleges. It took the arrival of the immigrant students to save the system.
“I think that’s probably over the line,” Christie told Schieffer... SO WHAT! We’re not going to win any brownie points by going out of our way to be nice to Obama. Our candidate needs to bring it on hard, constantly. Some of it sticks, some of it doesn’t. Christie go home, or go on a diet.
