Daniel Pipes said the smart move here is to do nothing. Let the two sides go at it. The benefit to us would be Iran saddled with the corpse of Syria, the Sunni world becoming ever more hostile to Iran (witness Hamas recently), and the Sunni world also becoming hostile toward Moscow and Peking. The worse the Assad regime makes the situation the better for the United States. So lets just step back and reap the reward.
