President Barack Obama has defended his energy strategy claiming there is no easy answer to the problem of rising gas prices. 'We know there's no silver bullet that will bring down gas prices or reduce our dependence on foreign oil overnight,' Obama said on Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address dismissing Republican solutions as little more than gimmicks.
'But what we can do is get our priorities straight and make a sustained, serious effort to tackle this problem.'

We have to invest hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to invent making oil from pond scum.
Then hundreds of billions MORE to build the hundreds of plants that would make the stuff.
The gas from that should only cost $10 - $12 a gallon. Thats pretty competitive on the European market!
There is NO NEED to pump oil out of the ground. That gas would only cost about $2 a gallon and would confuse the global markets.
