Maybe that was the question. Hospitals don’t like people taking babies out of hospitals until all the paperwork has been done. Something about kidnapping being bad.
I had a duplicate thread which included several sober statements on hospital protocol related to patient safety - especially as it relates to potential newborn abductions by strangers. The hospital is held responsible for patient safety until formally discharged.
It has happened and hospitals are not only correct in having security in place to prevent it - but there is also the tragedy for parents and liability for the hospitals to consider.
