I thought she was a Christian too, but I found that if someone has a family member or friend who is gay, they feel they must support them. That’s like supporting your sons drug addition, but I know people who think to love someone you must accept and approve their behavior.
From another post on the subject RE Conservatives supporting the homosexuals/agenda
Heres the thought process in general:
Im a conservative
I have a friend
My friend is a homosexual
Conservatives are against homosexuality
I have many conservative friends
I am against homosexuality
My friend isnt a flaming homo
None of my conservative friends know I have a gay friend
As long as he doesnt shove it in my face and embarass me in front of my conservative friends, theyll never know and I dont have to admit it.
Well hes out now and no one disowned me so aparently people will tolerate him if he isnt too out
Its really none of my business who zooms who as long as Im not personally involved
Personal freedom is the bullwark of conservative thought and belief.
Liberals are the ones who try dictating peoples lives, not conservatives.
My friend shares a number of my beliefs about financial/govenmental issues.
I never realized you can be homosexual and conservative
My friend is further right than some people on Free Republic - Hes hardcore on issue X!
I dont know why the conservatives wont accept people who believe the same things they do just because of his sex preferences
Its completely unfair
I cant believe how intolerant people are of my friend.
If thats the way its going to be Im done. Im not a bigot and I dont want to be associated with them.
I guess that the libs were right after all.

And that holds true very often. Some fortunately manage to stop and get their priorities in order before going off the deep end.
