Texas farm and ranch land along the Rio Grande River in deep South Texas is well suited for agriculture, a place where crops, forage and livestock flourish on rich soil.
But in a time when farmland values are exceptionally strong, thousands of acres of this prime property is currently available for below market value, yet few potential buyers are giving the property a second look.
A local farm and ranch realtor, Terry Urdal in McAllen, says few buyers are willing to gamble on property plagued by serious border issues including drug cartel violence and an increasing influx of illegal immigrants streaming into the Valley to escape what some term the most violent region on earth.

Regardless of who wins in November I don’t expect anything to be done on the border. There is too much corporate money involved in keeping the border open, drugs flowing and illegals working, and the GOP and Democrats alike are little more than tools for the big money which really runs this country.
The socialist democrats under obama who despise this country couldn’t be happier. That is exactly in line with their idealogical views of destroying this country and bringing her down on her knees. The election of obama was the greatest mistake in the history of U.S. elections. We must politically destroy the socialist democrats come November and bring this country back on track.
I think the same way but when I espouse that line I get a deer-in-headlights or "right wing nut" response, so now I just clam up, hunker down and load up. We continue to swirl in the drain, despite a few back eddies.
